Compare & Contrast

To find the surface area of a prism, you add the area of the two bases and the lateral area together. To find the volume of a prism, you use the formula V=Bh.
To find the surface area of a cyclinder, you use the formula SA=2πr2+2πrh. To find the volume of a cylinder you would use the formula V=πr2h.
To find the surface area of a pyramid, you would find the lateral area with the formula L=1/2Pℓ and then use the formula SA=L+B. To find the volume of a pyramid you would use the formula V=1/3Bh.
To find the surface area of a cone, you would find the lateral area using the formula L=πrℓ and then use the formula SA=L+B. To find the volume of a cone, you would use the formula V=1/3πr2h.
